WELCOME TO FAMILY DOG Levels 1,2 3, and 4.
All must attend orientation and at least one Family Dog Level 1 class. No exceptions.
Family Dog Level 1
Prerequisite: Orientation only. The following are the requirements for advancing to Family Dog Level 2:
- Impulse Control Basics
- Clicker Mechanics
- Name Game
- Sit at Side
- Settle

Family Dog Level 2
Prerequisite: Family Dog Level 1. The following are the requirements for advancing to
Family Dog Level 3:
- Expanded Impulse Control
- Expanded Name Game (Puppy Ping Pong)
- Down
- The Six Sits
Family Dog Level 3
Prerequisite: Family Dog Level 2. The following are the requirements for advancing to
Family Dog Level 4:
- Go To Mat
- Loose Leash Walking Basics
- Recall (15-feet from handler minimum)
- 15-second stays
Family Dog Level 4
Prerequisite: Family Dog Level 3. The following are the requirements for advancing to
the Canine Good Citizen Test:
- Real World Manners (cafes, parks, appropriate stores)
- Advanced Loose Leash Walking
- Recall (30-feet from handler minimum)
- Calmly accepting a person to greet handler
- Dog must Sit or stand politely, and allow a person to pet it
- Calmly allowing another handler and dog to approach client with their dog
- Dog allows trainer to check ears, tail, touch it as a vet or groomer may
- Dog must walk through a crowd
- Dog reacts calmly to a distraction
- Supervised Separation: dog remains non-stressed when handler leaves sight for 30 seconds
