Board and Train

Here at Grace Dog Training & Behavior we have been providing our Board and Train service for more than 12 years now. We have four options for you to chose from when it comes to your dog boarding and training needs:

Grace Dog Training & Behavior’s owner/trainer, Ana Melara has been providing Board & Train services to families with difficult dogs for more than 12 years. You call us when your dog has:

  • been trashing your home
  • been lunging on leash at other dogs or people
  • bitten a person
  • bitten another dog

What sets us apart from other training centers, is your dog will have a comfortable stay in Ana’s home. Your dog will have many opportunities to play and learn with Ana and the Grace Dog Training & Behavior staff. She will focus on goals you have set, or issues you have discussed. Ana will spend two weeks building skills and training by way of gentle methods and positive reinforcement. Ana will let you know if more time is necessary.

After the Board & Train, the next step is transferring what your dog learned to you. The best way to transfer this knowledge is through Private Training. Included in your Board & Train package are 5 hours of transfer training sessions. They must be used within 10 days of your dog returning home. We want you to be able to pick up where we leave off, and of course, we’re always here to answer any questions and follow-up on your progress. We want you and your pet to have a long, happy relationship!

We work with families who have the following needs:

  • brand new puppy who needs all basic manners
  • potty training
  • house training
  • attention to handler
  • recall
  • leash manners
  • crate training
  • Ana also handles dogs that might have aggression toward other dogs or humans

We do not work with families who:

  • are non-compliant
  • are complainers/skeptics
  • make excuses

Board and Train Pricing:

$1800 per week with a minimum of 2 weeks

$1700 each additional week

Your puppy will board with us for two weeks at $1200 a week and be trained and cared for by our professional staff of dog trainers.

Here is what you can expect for your puppy:

  • Plenty of play/socialization time
  • Potty training
  • Crate training and games
  • Proper chewing habits
  • Other adventures – walks, hikes, swimming
  • Basic skills – sit, down, recall, leash manners, impulse control

Your Puppy will go home with his or her own “School Bag” containing a clicker, a treat pouch and other goodies. You will have continued success once you get home.

Total Recall – Board & TrainFW7A1228[3]

Your dog will board with us for two weeks at $1200 a week and be trained and cared for by our professional staff of dog trainers.

Here is what you can expect for your dog:

  • We teach your dog to come the FIRST time you call.
  • It works at a distance, with other dogs, with people, chasing squirrels and sniffing
  • This is your “Come Here Now!” recall
  • Total Recall works for puppies and older dogs as well as difficult-to-train breeds.
  • You get a 4 week follow up class once the Board & Train is complete

Our staff will work with your dog 3-5 sessions per day during his or her stay with us.

Your dog will go home with his or her own “School Bag” containing a clicker, a treat pouch, a long-line and other goodies. You will have continued success once you get home.

Basic Manners – Board & TrainFW7A0092-A

Your dog or puppy will board with us for two weeks at $1200 a week and be trained and cared for by our professional staff of dog trainers.

Here is what you can expect for your puppy or dog:

  • We teach attention to the handler
  • Impulse Control – patience
  • Crate training – your dog will be happy to not be the center of attention
  • Coming when called always
  • Sit and stay
  • Down and stay
  • Walking politely on lead

Our staff will work with your dog 3-5 sessions per day during his or her stay with us.

Your dog will go home with his or her own “School Bag” containing a clicker, a treat pouch, a puzzle toy and other goodies. You will have continued success once you get home.
